Schisandra chinensis (Turcz) Baill is the natural source of biologically active substances, lignans that produce stimulating and tonic effect on human organism. In the future this plant might serve as the basis for obtaining new medical drugs and foodstuffs with biologically active properties. It should be noted that Schisandra chinensis (Turcz) Baill is the only source of lignans in the diversity of plants available in Russia.
