Production of biologically active compounds by virtue of tissues' cultures and plants' cells is a valuable and feasible alternative way to produce physiologically active phyto-polysaccharides'. Taking into consideration the facts that callus' polysaccharides, like those of the native plant, have immune modulating activity and that callus cultures are highly productive in respect of biomass and synthesized polysaccharides it is possible to suppose that callus cultures might be used for biotechnological extraction of physiologically active polysaccharides.
